Square appointments

is there a way to set an appointment from an item and the customer cannot choose a date?

EG, I have an item set up for a sewing class on Saturday 20th and one for 28th. - how can I convert the "item" into an appointment booking where the customer can only book the dates I have allocated?

I have been using square for many years and have already have the suggestions in place for various things now.

I currently set up an ITEM and use variations for date selections.

What I would like to do is have a service set up in a similar fashion where the customer can only select the date and time for the class that I have provided. From what I can see, the appointments appear to only be useful for a hairdressing type business?

 

Currently, when I create the class in the service/appointments section, the customer can choose and book any date from the calendar.  I dont have "team members" nor do I want to add any members as the classes are often run by different artists.

I just want to ensure I'm on the same page with your ask here!

Are we aiming to address customers selecting dates that are already booked out? Could you let me know the reasoning behind limiting certain customers to specific dates? 

Once I have a better understanding of your use case, I'd be happy to offer some recommendations.

Hi Laurie,

I am a sewing & craft store. We run up to 3 different classes, six days a week. Each class is different and each class has a different date/time/space limitations.  if you check my current class booking page at www.theemptybobbin.com.au/classes you will see that i have set them up as items with the date selection as a variation. This means that the customer can click on the class they want to select, choose a date nominated for THAT Class from the variation drop down and add to their cart. IF this was in appointments, the current set up allows the customer to CHOOSE any date in the calendar.  so if you were booking a KIDS SEWING Class, you could pick any date off the appointments calendar. Hoping this makes sense. I was hoping to utilise Appointments in such a way that the customer could book the class, have it add to our calendar and then send a reminder SMS/Text to the customer.
