Square Register Disassembly?

Does anyone know how to open one of these up. My power button had become intermittent (mostly non-functional). I'm an experience electronics tech and, yes, it IS the power button (or associated circuitry).

If opening it up isn't practical, maybe because you have to rip the display off like some early tablets, does anyone have any other ideas that DON'T involve spending $800 on a new one?

Hi there, @5StarEventPhoto - Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about your Square Register. While we would not recommend taking the Register apart yourself, I can certainly provide you with some information on our warranty policy.

Square warrants your Square Register against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of two years from the shipping date. This limited warranty does not apply to Square Hardware that has been subject to alteration, repair, tampering, accident, abuse, misuse, fire, acts of god, or other external causes. For the Square Register, you’ll have to contact our Support team and obtain approval before submitting a warranty claim.

I hope this information is helpful but please do let me know if you have any additional questions

It's well past a year. If that's the only solution then why wouldn't I open it up? Seems that it's fix it myself or toss it in the trash.

PSA:

I FINALLY heard from support. To paraphrase; "You're on your own. Zero assistance or information will be forthcoming. Because of a simple button malfunction you now own an expensive brick."
