Hello Square Community,
I’m encountering unresolved issues with my Square accounts that are causing significant disruptions to my business operations.
Initially, I created an account under my therapist’s name as a sole proprietorship. This account is already fully set up and operational, with all appointments and business settings configured. However, I now need to transfer ownership of this account to myself. This issue is tied to Case #100836114.
While waiting for this matter to be resolved, I created a second account under my name, using my company’s Tax ID. Both accounts are linked to the same business name and location (Zen Harmony Massage). Unfortunately, this second account remains stuck in “view-only” mode, associated with Case #100926119.
Resolving the ownership transfer for the first account would allow me to avoid replicating all settings and ensure my business continues to operate seamlessly. Despite providing both case numbers, the support team has been unable to adequately assist me.
I need urgent help to either:
My business relies heavily on Square’s platform, and I am disappointed with the lack of resolution so far. I appreciate any assistance from the community or escalation to someone who can resolve this matter.
Thank you in advance for your support!

I think this is the article you need:

See if you can go into the first account and initiate the transfer. That is what I would do. It looks phishy when you have 2 accounts under the same name, almost like you would be trying to snag someone else's account, so square will be very picky and make sure. That is for your protection and the community as a whole.
The issues you are running into are because Square does not let you Sell your Square account to someone else. This is because of Tax reasons and SS#'s or EIN's etc. Basically whoever originally setup the account is still showing income, and would show on a 1099 form. You may need to export everything from Original account, and import it to the Read Only account. As far as I know there is no way for you to change the EIN or the SS# in the original account which is why Square states accounts can not be sold. Some one in the organization can take over if they are inside the same companies EIN. Meaning if a Manger retires his replacement Manager can take over if nothing else has changed, like the company was sold or changed EINs because of the manager retiring.
You may need to have a 3 way call with previous owner, yourself and Square support if that is possible. Squares number is in my signature line below.
Good luck!!
