MULTIPLE Item/Inventory Issues

Not sure where this belongs. feel free to move it. I've been having MULTIPLE inventory issues for a number of years. I'm being told the issue is because I don't a paid account, but that doesn't make much sense. The issues are:

1) items will randomly be removed from my items library. This occurs mostly with items that have variations, in which case, the ENTIRE listing will be gone. I've had items containing 12+ variations completely disappear MULTIPLE TIMES

2) stock numbers will randomly adjust on their own. I'll do inventory, and literally the next day, be told that an item that I'm physically holding in my hand, is at 0, or even negative numbers.

3) Items that I haven't had in years, and that have been deleted from the system, will sparadically pop back up. I refer to these as "Zombie Products", as they seem to rise from the dead.  

4) I've removed inventory tracking, manually, on EVERY SINGLE ITEM, MULTIPLE TIMES, but it keeps re-activating, even though I now use an offline inventory system.

 

All of these issues has meant that I've had to disconnect Square from my online store, and that I now use a manual, completely offline system to track my 2000+ items.

 

Is anyone else having these problems? What solutions/work-arounds have you found?

 

My potential solution for #1, is to remove variations completely and have each item be its own individual listing, so I won't lose an entire chunk of items. I'll keep everyone updated on whether this actually works.

I have 2600 items and the only issue I ever have is a stuck item in invoice commitments - but it sounds like you are syncing to a 3rd party? That is not something I am doing, my square website and square pos all show correct information.

I have an Ecwid store, that was linked to my Square. The problems that were showing in Square, were being reflected in my Ecwid store, because they were connected. I haven’t had anything connected to Square in over a year. I manually update my inventory, using a spreadsheet, and manually update my Ecwid site.

I would reach out to support directly ask for ticket numbers and post updates or replys to this thread for tracking.

 

Some of what you are describing shouldn't be possible lime deleted items coming back.

There’s quite a bit to unpack here, and much of what you’re reporting doesn’t seem quite right. Regardless of the plan you’re subscribed to, your inventory tools should align with your preferences, and generate a true reflection of your item count.


The majority of our stock tracking and item features are available on our free plans, so it would be expected that your item listings and inventory data would be accurate, even if you don’t subscribe to a paid tier.


I’d agree with JTPets on this, and recommend that you reach out to support with specific examples of this behaviour, so they can take a look at an account level and escalate any potential issue to our engineers for review.
