Item activation and deactivation option

Is it possible to have a button on the dashboard item library that allow an item to be deactivated and reactivated at a later date. Basically switches it off, retains all the  parameters but hides it from the POS and takes it off the tracking reports.

We have seasonal products say for Christmas which we deactivate for 9 months of the year. The products remain in the POS library. We clean this up so the team do not need to see these the rest of the year in the POS by taking away the location, however this causes the tax rate to rest set to all taxes. This means when we reactivate the item by putting a location back on, we have to reset all the taxes for these items. We also have to deactivate the tracking so the item does not appear in stock reports then add the tracking back when we reactivate.

we don’t want seasonal out of Eason cluttering up the POS and inventory low stock reports.

Hi @doc_choc, thanks for your post.

That is a great idea, we have something similar for Square Online where you can change the visibility of items, but we don't have any such functionality for regular items at the moment, unfortunately.

The only slight workaround I can think of here is to have two different CSV files containing your annual vs seasonal stock in either one.. which you would import/export depending on the time of year, however, I would imagine that may lead to unnecessary hassle.

I appreciate you raising this request, as always, I'll let you know if I hear of any product updates.
