Hi everyone,
I have been trying for months to verify my identity with Square so that I can start getting a Square reader and accept card payments at markets. However, I have been unsuccessful in getting accepted because I am struggling to verify my identity. Any recommendations?
I already requested my Equifax report and most information is outdated, as I haven't applied for a loan for a while. I tried entering all those details to verify my identity with Square, but my name doesn't match as I now have my married name on my drivers license vs my maiden name with Equifax. How do I get around all of this?
I have tried different versions of my name (including maiden name, married name, middle names or without middle names) and nothing seems to be working. Suare support hasn't been helpful at all and I am getting so frustrated as this process has been taking months, while it should be so easy to set up. Please any advice would be super helpful.
Thanks,
Linda
Hi @HappyPLinda,
Thanks for writing in to the Seller Community, and sorry to hear you're having trouble signing up.
For more help on ID verification issues, you'll need to get in touch with our support team on 1800 760 137. Lines are open Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm Melbourne time. Unfortunately, this isn't something we can look into further via this forum.
You can also find some general troubleshooting for this at https://squareup.com/help/au/en/article/5057-signup-troubleshooting - I recommend reading through this article for more on how the ID verification process works and why it can fail.
