Three weeks of talking to 8 different people, each telling me what I need to do in order to reconnect my UPS account that Weebly disconnected. I'm being passed around, and it doesn't feel good.
Then today I received this beauty:
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we wanted to notify you that the direct Weebly connection for UPS is being discontinued .
While this change affects the current setup, we have two excellent alternative solutions available to ensure uninterrupted UPS shipping functionality:
The Square site option is particularly recommended as it provides the most streamlined solution for maintaining UPS shipping capabilities. This approach will give you access to all UPS features through the Shippo integration, ensuring consistent and reliable shipping operations.
So Square is wanting to move Weebly customers over to building a Square website, making it less attractive and inconvenient to stay put. If I need to develop a new website, it's not going to be with Square because this is bull**bleep** treatment.
Hi, @LederEasel. Thank you for your post. My name is Violet and I'm one of the Moderators here in the Square Community. Nice to meet you.
Firstly, I'd like to make sure you've seen our Community Code of Conduct . We ask that members be respectful and collaborative, and approach interactions here from a place of curiosity. In this post, your use of profanity does not fall within these guidelines.
We want to make sure that The Community is a collaborative environment where anyone can ask or answer a question and expect a respectful response. While it's okay to be frustrated or disagree, please keep these guidelines in mind during future interactions and posts. Thank you for your attention and understanding.
Now onto your question....
At this time, we no longer support UPS through Weebly Classic or the Shipping page for Square Online Store. However, UPS is still supported, if you've connected to UPS through the Square Online Fulfillment Settings, as that is now the supported method for integrating UPS shipping services. If you haven't already set up your website through the Square Online Store platform, we suggest that you do so, to continue using UPS shipment services.
Square acquired Weebly in April 2018. This acquisition was part of Square's strategy to expand its services into website building and e-commerce, integrating Weebly's capabilities with Square's payment and business services. Square is transitioning from Weebly to a more integrated and optimized platform called Square Online. This change will streamline services and provide a more cohesive experience under the Square ecosystem. Existing services on Weebly will eventually be migrated to Square Online, if they haven't been already, ensuring that you continue to receive robust support and access to enhanced features designed specifically for online Sellers.
I hope this information is helpful but please do let me know if you have any additional questions.
