Integration of landline phone to square Register

Hi, 

 

we currently have square registers installed at our sites and are considering switching to a different provider. We are scaling up our business and feel as though the biggest let down with the square register it’s lack of integration with our landline phone.

 

The reason this would be useful is if an existing customer was to call up the store a pre-existing profile would appear with their information. This would include name, address, mobile number, previous order history and possibly email address. 

This would be particularly helpful for sending out offers and managing deliveries. Would it be possible to create an extension or add on for the square registers that would encompass this feature?

I’ve had a look at recent discussions around Caller-ID, and I can see that two of our US partners do offer an integration to the Square POS/Dashboard. Unfortunately from what I can see, neither are currently listed on the Square App Marketplace for UK integrations.


That being said, you may want to reach out to these companies to express your interest, and query any plans to roll their services out to other markets. 


SoundHound for Restaurants currently allows customers to simply speak their order, pay via a Square link, have that order pushed into the Square Terminal, and be prepared for pick-up.

 

Ooma Office for Square integrates with the Square dashboard to provide Caller-ID pops, that include information from the Customer Directory. 


Our engineers have also looked at the idea of Caller-ID features on our Point of Sale systems, however this is not actively being developed at this time. I’ll be sure to let you know if there is any movement on that.
