Hold on my funds

I've been using Square for about 4-5 months roughly and haven't had an issue. Recently, I had a very large job finish up and the customer went to pay me using Square. After receiving the first payment Square froze my account and the money. I wasn't given a good reason other than it was more than what I normally got, this all happened 4 days ago. I had to get the rest of the money through direct deposit, I answered all the questions for their survey and haven't heard anything back from anyone. I got an email yesterday saying the funds were in my account but I still don't have them. Does this happen often?

HI @RPMMD

This is not uncommon to happen given your circumstances.  Many companies will use an average sale (or spend) on your account, and then it can get flagged for "unusual" (higher) activity. This happens to protect the customer, you and the merchant while things get verified.

While the funds should be in your account, you will most likely need to contact customer support during business hours to see why they haven't arrived yet.

I do all kinds of jobs with varying amounts, my issue is that nobody complained and all the information/details were good but Square had the issue and took the money. I did all their stuff and its been almost five days after the fact. At this point I feel they stole the money. No live people can help me, my customer doesn't know where her money went, and I have bills to pay. I finally got ahold of a live person who said they would have it resolved in two hours I finally felt better but that was a lie. My money is essentially gone with no warning or care.

Edit: after the comment they finally lifted the hold
