When you go out to eat and tip the waitress/waiter, they are not getting the tip. The restaurants using Square around my area are not charging the tip to the bill, so the waiter's/waitress doesn't get a tip even though you entered in one.
@thecoolyman I don't think this has anything at all to do with square. I have used it for years and we do credit card tips and everything is recorded. If an employee is not getting tips from the employer that is clearly an issue with the employer. Blaming square for this would be a false statement and I would be careful. This should be reported to the department of labor in the state you are in by the employee.
You are sadly mistaken. I'm not trying to blame anything on anyone. I'm asking if it's happening elsewhere as it's happened to me several times. I use different cards and they all have the same issue, it's not the store/restaurant, it's square not taking the tip and adding it to the total bill, I've watched it happen several times in several places across Michigan. I check my statements almost daily for the accounts I use and the last time the bill was apx $8.79, I left a $5 tip, I checked my statement the next day and it said $8.79 not $13.79 as it should have been. I went back into the place and gave the waitress the tip I tried to give her. I also told the owner, and she said sometimes square will skip the tip even after you tried to give them one. There is so sort of malfunction going on and I contacted square to inform them also but they just said to go back to all of them and tell them about it so they could call square and figure it out, I'll go to the one's I go to but that's about it.
Definitely Sus about the business. if it is where you write it down on a paper that Has to do with tips being added after by the owner or employee then settled in Square, it isn't that Square isn't charging the tip you added on.
