Has anyone else had issues like these with Square?

The Square system completely stopped working at the start of dinner service on a Friday night.

  • We could not add tables or guests.
  • We could not swipe between outside table plan and inside table plan.
  • We could not send tickets to the kitchen.
  • We could not place drink orders nothing was printing.
  • I was on the phone for over and hour in the middle of service trying to get the help required.
  • End result in this chaos handwritten dockets for both bars 2 kitchen sections, and pass thus 5 hand written dockets during service on Friday night
  • Missed orders extended wait times for food service, complaints after complaints.

 

We ended up restarting the whole system from scratch, issues still arising during dinner service.

  • Still no dockets printing to kitchen or bar printers
  • Items on the register and not printing on the dockets.
  • Items not on printed docket at paying at register, this was discovered at the end of the night when we reviewed the dramas of a night that Square left us in.

 

End result drinks, bottle of Bollinger Champagne, numerous desserts offered FOC as compensation

 

 

No let’s start with Saturday Lunch service issues, again 1 hour spent on the phone with support from the USA. They said to call on Monday regarding warranty we have not even been operational 2 weeks with Square.

  • iPad still not syncing with the main register.
  • iPad not showing tables with customers seated.
  • iPad still showing tables from last night that have paid and are closed accounts, and we cannot void or remove from the screen, BIG ISSUE for tonight’s dinner service and Sunday.
  • Food Items are printing at Bar1 & 2 printers even though they are not selected in the assigned categories.
  • Bar 2 items are not going through the system only If we use bar 2 iPad.
  • Items showing on main register not printing to kitchen printer items missing off dockets ( see attached photos)
  • Items on hold are not printing out to the kitchen printer, HOW are we to run a busy dinner service tonight when we need to double check every docket and item from the register or iPads.
  • Receipts are still printing to all POS printers’ issues raised on Monday with Gemma
  • Covers/seat numbers for drinks are no longer available for dockets.
  • No drink orders are printing to bar 2 printer when orders are logged from the register or Bar1 iPad. Major issues as I have 2 bars and split items from ach bar may be ordered from 1 table. i.e beer bar 2 & cocktails bar1.
  • Every item from food menus are printing bar 1 & 2 even thought not selection in the menu items for those printers.
  • All the photo’s that I have saved to the library and assigned to the relevant food items, wine lists are no longer there.
