Accrue loyalty points when customer profile is added to transaction

My enrolled loyalty customers are getting very annoyed that each day they visit they have to enter their mobile number over and over again to accrue any loyalty points.

 

Most of our customers are elderly and many do not know their phone numbers by heart. They have already given us their phone numbers once and are complaining about being asked for their phone numbers on every visit.

 

Customers can redeem their square awards by just giving us their profile name, why can't they accrue points in the same manner?

It seems that customers can only accrue loyalty points by entering their mobile phone number every single time they shop with us.

 

My customers are getting very annoyed that each day they visit they have to enter their mobile number over and over again to accrue any loyalty points.

 

We need to be able to allow registered loyalty customers to accrue points by simply giving us their name at the beginning of the transaction.

 

If customers can redeem their rewards by just giving us their name, why can’t they accrue points in the same manner?

Customers entering their phone numbers is the only method we have currently available to accrue points for Square Loyalty at the moment. 

 

It would be great to submit this idea as a feature request to our Loyalty teams here. Please be sure to include some details about how you'd use this in your business day-to-day - it really helps highlight why a given feature request should be prioritised.

If your customer is already a loyalty member you can pull up their profile before starting the transaction and add it to the transaction. Simply press add customer button at the top right hand side of the checkout page on the POS. Then complete the transaction and the points will be added to the transaction. Whether it’s a mobile number or pulling up the customer profile before commencing the transaction, the system needs a profile with loyalty subscribed for it to attach a transaction and add the earned points. Hope this helps.
