Issue with Square Stand and TM-M10 Epson printer stalling or printing random characters
I'm using the Square Stand with a TM-M10 Epson printer with USB connection (a compatible printer for the Square Stand). I have Square Retail version. Several times a week the printer will stall and not print or will print out a long string of random characters either for the entire receipt or at the end. The only way to fix the stall is to power the printer off and on. The random character issue can sometimes be fixed by doing that, but often needs a reboot of the iPad. All my drivers appear to be up-to-date. Is this a common issue? Is there a way to fix it altogether or do I have a defective printer?

I used to work as a Hardware Specialist specifically Priority Sellers - and while I am familiar with your setup and printer, the issue you are describing definitely sounds like something is off. My immediate reaction is that your printer itself may be experiencing software issues.
My recommendation would be to reach out to our Support Team here. They will dial in some troubleshooting steps you can try, and then direct you to next steps if the issue persists.

I'm having the same issue. Everything prints fine on my Galaxy tab but Square. Epson TM utility prints perfect sample receipts. The issue is obviously with the Square app since all other apps have no problem at all. There are many people dealing with this issue in the Square community but no solution posted by Square yet. Very frustrating! Could Square at least post when they anticipate coming up with a solution. There are posts going back years for this issue.
