I have a produce stand and I'm trying to create a self pay link for customers to send the amount they owe based on what they pick. The stand is open for self service the majority of the time. I've tried setting up an online store but my customers are struggling to use it so at this point I'm just trying to create a link people can use to send their total amount (like venmo). So far the only ways I can think of to accomplish this are creating a donations link and creating a link to an item that is $1 and customers would have to change the quantity to reflect their totals.
I don't like the donations link because there's no way to remove the "donation" wording, and then in the second screen there's additional verbiage about "no exchange of goods" which I know will be problematic for my older customers if they read that. And I don't really like the $1 priced item because then customers would have to click the button 20 times if their bill is $20. Are there any other options I can use?
Hi Venstrafarm,
Bottom line, you cannot do what you have in mind - although you can create an item with a $0.00 price, it will show as unavailable which will prevent you from creating a link. The item must have a price greater than $0.00. As for creating a Donation link, that would work however, as you stated, that will just create new customer issues. You could submit your idea as a Future Feature Request but, that does not solve your current challenge. It may be possible to do what you have in mind with PayPal, but that's another challenge. Just my thoughts of course. Perhaps another Community Member has a suggestion or two.
