I want to change the name on my account or close my account how do i do that

@serena63 Welcome to the community. Here’s the steps to change your name or close your account. We would hate to see you leave Square, so if you need any help or more questions answered post them we will be more than happy to help.

 

Changing Your Business Name:

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Account & Settings > My Business > About my business.
  3. Click Edit next to your current business name.
  4. Enter your new business name.
  5. If you have up to three locations, you can choose to apply the updated name across all locations. For four or more locations, update each location individually.
  6. Click Save to confirm the changes.

Your updated business name will now appear on customer receipts and card statements.

 

Deactivating Your Square Account:

If you decide to close your Square account:

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Account & Settings > My Business > About my business.
  3. Click Deactivate your business at the bottom of the page.
  4. Select your reason for deactivation, add any optional comments, and click Continue.
  5. Enter your account password and select Confirm.

Before deactivating, export any necessary data, such as payment history, Item Library, and Customer Directory, as deactivation is permanent and cannot be undone.

I get you.  I need to change my personal name on the account.  I am assuming that is what you might be asking.  I can't seem to find how to do that.

@mndloo777 Welcome to the community. Changing the account owner’s personal name on your Square Online account is not directly possible through the dashboard, as Square currently does not support changing the account owner’s name. You could contact support about changing your personal name, but you will have to go through the whole verification process again, just like you are doing an account transfer to a new owner.
