I would like Square for Retail to add a permission setting that allows employees to perform inventory counts and inventory adjustments without being able to view item unit costs.
Currently, any employee who needs access to inventory counting can also see the cost of goods for all items. This creates a challenge for businesses that want staff to assist with inventory management while keeping purchasing costs confidential.
Suggested Permission:
- "Can perform inventory counts and stock adjustments"
- Separate permission: "Can view item costs"
This would allow business owners to grant inventory access without exposing sensitive cost information.
As a Square Retail Plus subscriber, this feature would significantly improve employee permission controls and inventory management workflows.
