Hi @Dana, you can pause your Square Payroll account by going to the Payroll Settings tab of your Payroll dashboard. You can pause your account for up to 9 months or until you submit another payroll run for processing, whichever date is sooner. After the 9 month period is up, you can pause your Payroll subscription again, if needed.
Square Payroll will continue to file your quarterly tax returns and prepare your year-end returns, including W-2s but it's important to note that employees should not be paid outside of Square Payroll while your account is paused.
