How do I deal with unpaid time off for salaried employees?

Hi - if we have a salary employee, how do we manage not paying them when they have unpaid time-off? Do you just modify in the weekly payroll, or is the salary connected to hours clocked?

If it were me I would just modify the weekly payroll and make sure it's documented elsewhere
