I'm new to square and was helping an employee link her cashapp account using my phone. However, now my cashapp is linked to her square account. We have been googling and trying to figure out ways to remove mine and add hers onto it. Everything we have tried will not work. I have tried from my cashapp to remove it, from her square account, from the square manager dashboard. Nothing is working. Does anyone have any suggestions?
@alexis325 Welcome to the community. When a Cash App account gets linked to a Square account, Square creates a permanent token pairing behind the scenes. That token does not fully release just because you “remove” it in the dashboard — so Square still thinks your Cash App is the authorized payout wallet for that employee profile. Because the token still exists in Square’s backend identity service.
You will need to contact support and ask it to be escalated to Square Engineering, because this requires Square Engineering to perform an Employee Identity Wallet Token Reset. After the rest the token your employee can reconnect their cash app.
