Hi Engineering Team,
I see many requests for restock reports. I just noticed today, that restock is used in 3 different contexts on the Seller Community request boards. I have requested a future update and noted it in the seller community, but realized, this may be confusing because the work "restock" can be defined differently. I also suggested a fix within the thread.
1} Daily Sales Restock Report. Used daily. Report for previous days sales, to pull stock from inventory and restock on the sales floor. Item Sales Report will run report but not give you inventory status. So you either 1, have to look up inventory to see if we have remaining stock or 2, manually search inventory to see if there is remaining stock. Either is a waste of many hours per week. As a note, our small business sold 1269 items last Saturday. Inventory Sell-Through Report gives you the information, but only in 7-365 day increments. SOLUTION: Add 1 day or Yesterday to the drop-down in this report. I cannot stress enough that this is a daily retail task and no report exists.
2} Pending Restock Report. Used occasionally. While appreciated, this task is mostly completed at checkout and is used rarely. Unlike the need for Daily Sales Restock Report.
3} Low Stock / Restock. Used occasionally. In the seller community, on occasion, low stock and restock is used interchangeably to refer to the need to purchase items to replenish inventory. As I ready through Seller Community threads, I noticed requests that used the term 'restock' as the task of purchasing items from manufacturers for replenishment. That is often called a Replenishment Report or Low Stock/Order Report. Not to be confused with what is generally called a Restock Report. We use the Inventory Sell-Through Report as our Replenishment Report.
Thank you for considering adding this to the "ACTIVE" feature requests. We switched to Square for Retail last year and "front of house" customer interface is incredible! We used the same POS system for 12 years and the reason we changed was because of customer confusion and slow service. Square is A+ at this product. Please consider this back of house feature that would make our work day more efficient.
