Modifier inventory counts, please

I’m submitting this to request that — just like we have running counts for items — we be given the ability to enter counts for modifier tracking/86ing.  The ability to toggle modifiers between in/out of stock is great, but an automated count-down would be very welcome.

The lack of inventory tracking is killing us. We sell a huge number of bulk candies and originally used Modifiers, but without inventory it became dangerous and useless. Right now we have an embedded form BUT because we can't modify the Product layout in Square ONline, the embedded form is below the button and OFTEN missed which means following up with the customer every time: https://www.rivercitytreats.ca/product/pick-n-mix-custom-candy-mix/555?cp=true&sa=false&sbp=false&q=...

The form allows the customer to choose multiples of something, it has pricing, it tracks the inventory and it has more control over the look than the actual Square Online. The only issue is it's not linked to Square and it's clunky the way it is embedded because now the customer has to go through a two-step process! This could be easily solved with Modifier inventory. We're about to add a restaurant with ice cream orders and we have a variety of dips and toppings which should be able to be part of inventory. We pay for every form of Square and it boggles my mind that this isn't included. Square Online linked with Restaurants should be able to do it.

I would add a full category view where you could edit the inventory of an entire category on the same page.

As you already know, during this phase, other sellers can contribute their use cases to bolster your idea and highlight its necessity. This is absolutely essential. We use modifiers for bagel flavors and have to manually count down on scratch paper as we sell thru. It's stressful and laborious. 

Being able to manage inventory at the modifier level would be amazing, just as we do at the item level. We'd prefer to have the feature 'reset' at the date/time specified via the Restaurants app as we currently do with 'edit availability'.

I sell 3D printed items, and one item has several color variations. I have used modifiers to allow the selection of an item's color. There are some colors that are more standard, and I tend to stock those more than the others, however, my item listing only allows me to stock the item, essentially colorless. It may show I have 50 in stock, but is that 50 red, or 50 yellow, or a mix of the two? Having this would allow me to better plan for stocking levels and not delay orders due to waiting on a print job.

@Subport I appreciate the lead.  However, in this particular case, his impressive app doesn't help with real-time modifier inventory countdowns. His app looks great for helping plan inventory restock (both ordering and production), and I've looked at it when I decide to quit using my current spreadsheet for inventory tracking and ordering.  It's definitely on my list when that day comes.
