Payroll Report vs W3

Hello!

When I am looking at my payroll summary, how do I tell which withdrawals are for Employer taxes vs. Employee taxes? I transfer this information into QuickBooks and I need the end result to match up with my W3 at the end of the year. Trying to fix 2024 in retrospect was a nightmare so I want to get 2025 off on the right foot. I'm specifically wondering about the "By IRS for taxes, By Square for tax paid Monthly/Quarterly, By NY DTF for taxes, NY State PFL and NY State Disability."

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @AlyciaV, thank you for your post. Welcome to the Square Community!

The payroll summary isn’t necessarily broken down by employer vs. employee taxes, instead it is broken up by the separate debits you (the employer) should see in your bank account. For example, the IRS debit is a combination of employer and employee taxes. If you open each line item, you will then be able to see a breakdown of each.

You can download a report that has a breakdown of each tax by clicking on 'Run' > 'Action' > 'Export to CSV'.

I hope this helps a bit! Please let us know if you end up having any other questions.
