How do you pay an order with a status of Unpaid or Awaiting Payment from a Square Register?

One of our employees recently discovered that you can enter a pick-up order from the online Order Dashboard without entering a payment and it will show up in the order dashboard as an unpaid order. I am pretty sure that used to not be the case, that orders had to have both a fulfillment method and a payment to appear in the dashboard, but that appears to have changed.

 

We are using a Square Register to fulfill the orders. We can see the unpaid order under the active orders in the register, but when we open it we can't find a way to pay it. We progressed the order through the steps, to In Progress and then Ready to see if it would allow us to pay it, but no change. We then tried marking it as Picked Up to see if it would require it to be paid at that point, but it successfully marked it as picked up. Now the status has changed from Unpaid to Awaiting Payment. We still can't find a way to pay it.

 

From the online dashboard I can pull up the order and click Edit & Pay and it will allow me to enter a payment there, but we would rather use the register.

I accidentally forgot to record other payment before marking my order as complete. My order still shows up in the "active" status but says "awaiting payment" but I cannot edit the order at all.

Same here!
I was able to create an unpaid order - this was not possible before.
But now , when opening the order from the phone app, there is no way to accept payments for that order.
In other words: opening the order on the phone there is no button to accept payment.

When opening the order from the desktop app there is an option to EDIT PAY and then CHARGE.
But because the client will pickup, I need to accept the payment from the phone. So the desktop option is not useful.
