My Square app keeps disconnecting from my personal hotspot (which is on my cell phone). I’ve made sure that the app is updated, but I still keep having this problem. The day starts off fine where I’m connected, and then randomly, it disconnects and I’m not able to reconnect even though my hotspot is working/on… I’m just having the issues with the Square app. Oh and if anyone is familiar with connecting printers to the Square POS…. Please Help Me…. LOL! Thanks in advance. @members

I never liked using my cell in a store for the hotspot. You walk over 30 ft away and it may disconnect. What I did was bought a WiFi repeater or Mesh repeaters. This way as I walked out of range of one the other repeater connected. So my Stands were always connected. I use a Tablet for a Hotspot when my wired internet goes down, and it is close to a Mesh Repeater. This I disconnect the wired connection and it automatically connects to my Hot Spot from my Tablet that is close to the repeater. Without having more information it is hard to say what the problem is. Newer devices are trying to turn off features to Save battery for a longer times before having to charge.
As for setting up a Printer with your Square Stand it needs to be certain types of printers. You can not just setup any printer. Here is how you setup a Receipt printer and Printer Profiles with Square : 8245-set-up-printer-profiles

Just so you know just because a printer is compatible with an Ipad does not mean it is compatible with Square.
I have a USB scanner that is also Bluetooth compatible. It works with my Square Stand by USB but not Bluetooth. The Bluetooth works with my Ipad with other web based software so I know it is not the Scanner. The scanner is not on Squares Hardware list which is why I am stating this. Use the Square Recommended accessories for the least amount of trouble.
If you state which printer your trying to use maybe someone can assist you if they use that model also.

The MUNBYN printer you have might be a Thermal printer for printing Packing Labels and not a Reicipt type printer. This would be compatible with Square to print out a 4x6 mailing address for shipments but might not be the type to connect to a Square Pos device like a Square Stand. I have a cheap X Printer I believe which is similar to yours. I could not get it to work with a Square Stand but had no issues using it with a Computer (PC) and square to print on. It works great for my shipping labels. The other thing is with your Square stand and a Reciept printer there usually is another connection to open a cash drawer which my Xprinter does not have and am wondering if your MUNBYN has that connection.
Alot of hardware may connect to work with your device, ie Ipad but may not work with Squares software on an Ipad. Your printer says it works with Square, but does not say with which type of Square Hardware..... Square Dashboard on a computer, Apps on mobile devices or with a Square Register. Quick way to test this is to hook your MUNBYN printer up to a Laptop or Desktop computer, Log in to Square, Goto Transactions or any report and see if the report gets printed to the Thermal MUNBYN printer, yes it will be small but if it prints then it is because it is not compatible with Square POS but is compatible with printing from Squares Online Dashboard on a computer, so you could print out a receipt that way but its a lot easier to just buy the correct receipt printer.
When I look at which printers are compatible with Square POS all I see are either Star or Epson printers and not the MUNBYN printer. Yes I have seen Scanners etc that say they are compatible with Square POS or Ipad and some even both but did not work through the Stand as I thought they should, or would not work at all.
Can you print to the MUNBYN from Ipads Note Pad or other similar writing program on the Ipad?

I understand how frustrating it can be to deal with printer connection issues. As @Candlestore mentioned, if your printer isn't listed on our compatibility page, it won't work with Square. I recommend reaching out to the manufacturer or considering a supported printer model.

Seems we don't have enough info so just tossing out some guesses here. If you're using an iPhone for your hot spot, try enabling the "Maximize Compatibility" feature. (It's below the option where you turn the hot spot on.) Also ensure that you have the latest iOS for both your phone and iPad and suggest not having any other applications open while using both your phone and iPad - just the hot spot and the Square POS app. Next, ensure that the Square POS is the latest version - you can check that out under More, then Support. As for the printer, which one do you have and is it on the hardware comparability list? Please understand that the volunteer community members here are not the same as Tech or Customer Support although we do have quite a bit of experience using Square's Apps and Hardware. If your issues still persist after checking everything, you may want to contact Tech Support for additional assistance.

Thank you for that info regarding my connecting issues w/Square POS/App. I'll have to sit down and really devote a day to figure this out. The Printer that I have is suppose to be compatible with the Square POS and with iOS. The brand is MUNBYN and its a Thermal Printer. I’ve been trying to Set it up with customer service/tech support (MUNBYN) but they are on a whole different time zone and it’s through WhatsApp… Very frustrating.
