Etsy integration but selling other items outside Etsy

Hi, we've integrated Square into our Etsy shop so that we can take payments when we do in person craft events. We have an upcoming event, and I am planning to include baked goods for sale (a one off thing for the holidays). I don't necessarily want to list these boxes of cookies on Etsy for sale, as I don't want to get into trying to ship them right now. It is a small batch meant just for this particular upcoming event.

I don't see anywhere how (with my current Etsy integration) I can sell these items without them being listed in my Etsy shop. Is there a way to do a in person sale without there being a corresponding Etsy listing?

Thanks in advance for the input!

Hello @Koda1021 thanks for your post. How are you accepting payments when you are in person at a show? Do you have a Square card reader? If so, then you should also have the Square App on your smartphone. You should be able to use the Square app and input a dollar amount to make a sale, and then process a customer's credit card. This feature runs independently of your Etsy shop. So you can use the Square app for your Etsy sales, BUT you can also use it to take payments for any other items you sell.

I do the same thing but I get charged a 20 cent listing fee from Etsy, is there any way to easily sell an item that is not listed on Etsy while at a market and not get charged a listing fee?

Thanks for your question, @mariosb11! 👋

I’d recommend having a read through this thread, where other Sellers have had a similar discussion about Etsy’s $0.20 USD per transaction fee for non-synced Square items.

If you have any other questions regarding Etsy’s fees, the best course of action would be to reach out to their Support Team directly.

Please let me know if there’s anything else I can assist with. 🙂
