Gratuity based on pre-discounted total

When I discount a service, the gratuity is based off of the discounted price, not the original amount. A lot of customers click a percentage and assume they are tipping on the full amount. I found a thread through the seller community and it looks like this has been requested since 2017...

Ok, let me provide "feedback for greater visibility to your product teams"...

Exactly how much "feedback" do you need before you start considering a feature request? Is it based on years of feedback? So looks like the requests go back to 2017... Maybe you need 10 years of feedback? Or is it posts regarding this issue? I searched "tip before discount" and got 6,848 results (see image).  Maybe you need 7 thousand results?

 

From where I'm standing, seems to me like you have enough "feedback". 

 

Please, please, please implement gratuity based on pre-discounted total.  (Maybe begging works.)

 

We're planning on implementing a reservation deposit for large groups which will be credited to their check.  We try to make the customer aware that if they're clicking on the smart tip button, their tip will be on the discounted  or after gift card applied total and not the original amount.  However, sometimes it's so busy at the register/host station that we might not always remember so, our servers are missing out on tips. For our Mother's Day Buffet, we will be taking deposits for every.single.reservation.  Have you ever been to a Mother's Day Buffet?  It's our busiest day of the year.

 

A restaurant host station is a very busy place and it would be nice to have one less thing to worry about.

We need this feature period. Employees are being penalized when the restaurant/ cafe/ salon/ etc. uses Squares Loyalty feature to give discounts to customers. Employees are not happy and its not right.

Shall we drop Squares Loyalty program and save the $45 a month fee for it?
