Setting different shipping rates for different countries and package sizes

I'm used to Etsy where shipping profiles are infinitely flexible. I'm finding, frustratingly, that with Square Online I cannot set different shipping rates for different sized products to different countries.

An example:

All my UK packages could go same price shipping, let's say £5 would cover the post and packing of most items and the larger expensive items it doesn't matter if I lose a few quid.

However to the USA, my smallest package would cost me £20 to send, my medium product £45 to send, my largest £75 – so I need to be accurate and precise in pricing the shipping.

This  is before I get to countries such as Australia, Japan or Europe – EU and non-EU.

Am I missing something? Do I need to upgrade to a paid plan to get the flexibility I need in the shipping profiles?

Thanks to anyone who has done this and can explain.

Hi @Solly 👋 thanks for your post.

You can create shipping profiles for each country and set different rates based on the size of the product.

This can be done by using the weight-based rule instead of the flat rate setup, which allows you to create rules for each country or location.

This will also allow you to add rate rules which determine eligible shipping rates for customer orders. If an order falls outside the rate rules, it will be charged at the specified fallback rate.

(Please note I posted similar question to the (very small) UK Square Online Community but posting here too in the hope of quickly finding someone who's got to the bottom of this issue.)

Hi there @Solley

I went ahead and merged your second post here, where your first post was located. We merge duplicate conversations together to keep like comments in one place, and to make it easier for others to find the thread in the future. I also want to make sure you've seen our Community Etiquette Guidelines. We ask Seller Community Members to not post the same message in multiple places, as it is not productive for our Moderators. Please just keep this in mind for future posts.

Thank you @Breffni for providing a solution here 🙂

Thank you... that sounds like a possible work-around.

My shipper (UPS) prices are based on size (not weight) however, by adjusting (cheating) the weights of my items I should now be able to make this work. An example would be my platters, which while not very heavy are very large... I'll put their weight down as heavier than they actually are, to ensure their purchasers are charged the (appropriate) higher shipping cost.

Thank you!
