We have created duplicated locations by mistake, and recently deactivated one of them. I've been having issues adding new items to item library for online store, and suspect it may be related to deactivation of the location. I want to reactivate it to see it it would fix the issue, but cannot find how to. Once deactivated, it does not show up in the list of location in the setting.
Hey @noriko - you're right, deactivated locations hide so they won't be confused with your active locations. But you can always access them by clicking the Status button near the top of the Locations tab, then select Inactive.
Click the deactivated location to edit the details, you'll see a Reactivate Location button in blue lettering.
As for the synced location for your site, it might be easier to switch to the active location from the Online Store Dashboard > Settings > Square Sync.
I hope I'm not off target. Let me know if can help further!

Thank you for your help. I didn't notice the Status pulldown menu. I have successfully reactivate the location. Thank you again for your help!
Right on! Glad to hear @noriko
My subscription renewed on the first of the month and my latest location that I recently added is missing along with all the items that went with it.
How do I find this location that has been deactivated?
I do not see a status button at the top of the locations page, under account settings>business>locations.
Hey @jpatrello!
Thanks for posting in the Seller Community 🍁
Hmmm. It should look like this:
I am using a computer with the browser Google Chrome.
However, I did notice that if you do not have any deactivated locations, it excludes the option to view all statuses, and look as follows:
Are you sure you have a deactivated location? If you don't see the status option, it sounds like you do not have a deactivated location.

I have the same issue. I deactivated a location, but now need to issue a refund from that location. I don't have a status dropdown option. I deactivated a number of locations several months ago, as we are a seasonal business, and I didn't want to pay for locations not currently being used. I don't see any of them now, nor a way to reactivate them.
Heya @msmathe and welcome to the Community!
You can issue a refund for your transaction under > Transactions on the Dashboard so you don't need to reactivate the location to do so.
It'll still be in your Transactions list for the day you took it.
Hey i had the same problem, I'm sure by now you've fixed this, but for anyone else with this issue (since square doesnt make it easy to solve simple problems)... I couldn't see the status dropdown either. It was because I am not the main email associated with the account. I do have an administrator login, but it has to be the account owner (their email login) to see that dropdown and reactivate a location. So likely, that's the problem.
This does not work
Hello @PSG_CIO,
Sorry to hear you’re having the same issue. If none of the suggestions in this thread, including @isabelle helped, please give us a call ☎ to troubleshoot your account further.
Mine is missing as well. This is a bug; and an unfair one as we pay for active. Please let me know the fix! If I deactivate a location the drop down pulls up but will not pull up any location data to reactivate.
We want to add locations then add them as hardware rolls out. We have 50 locations...
No drop down. I can see the disabled locations in the API, and they cannot be replaced as they would have a name conflict...
Help!!!!!!
I used the locations API to set one from inactive to active. It does not display on the dash...
hello, how about deleting a Location?
You can deactivate a location, which will remove the location from your dashboard @touchdesign. Locations can't be permanently deleted at the moment- deactivated locations can always be reactivated in case you need to access it for reporting purposes 👍
Same issue here - deactivated a location but need to find some invoicing information under it. No drop down, no way to reactivate it.
Particularly frustrating because I specifically talked to someone today who told me it was like a light switch you could turn on and off.
