Provide Tools to improve Page Speed on Square Online

I'm not certain if this would be considered a feature or not - I was looking at my pagespeed, the speed at which the page loads, which affects the SEO, etc.  Google tools are able to offer all sorts of ways to increase the speed of the page load, none of which we are able to access.  Maybe make a checklist of things we can look at to increase page speed that we ARE able to implement?

Hi @beefolks1, that’s an excellent feature request. We appreciate you sharing your business use case and why it would be valuable for you. If you know of any fellow Seller Community members who would like to see this built out as well, feel free to tag them in your post so they can share their thoughts as well! The more sellers chime in to the request, the more likely it is to catch our product team's eye.

I don't know if there was an across the board change for the online users. When I logged in over the weekend,  there was a request within Square to change some of my DNS settings. Once that was accomplished, my mobile page speed seems to have dropped from 24 seconds to 8 seconds, with some tests running as low as 6 seconds. I'm very happy with those results, I don't know what you guys did on the back end or what the DNS change actually did, but I would recommend rolling it out to whoever else is looking to update their speed.

Improving page speed is crucial for SEO, and while some optimizations might be restricted based on platform limitations, there are still effective steps you can take. Compressing images, using next-gen formats like WebP, and enabling lazy loading can significantly reduce load times. Minifying CSS, JavaScript, and HTML, as well as reducing HTTP requests and external scripts, helps streamline performance. Implementing a CDN, enabling browser caching, and optimizing fonts also contribute to faster speeds. Additionally, tools like Path of Building can assist in analyzing load performance and identifying bottlenecks. By focusing on these areas, you can enhance user experience and search rankings even with platform constraints.
