PLEASE set up the POS app to match online prices

It's really frustrating that when I reduce an item online, it's not replicated on the POS app.

 

And not only that, but if I get a customer buying a few reduced items in my shop, I have to write down the discounts and then enter the total amount when I have entered everything into the app. This doesn't exactly speed things up.

 

I realise that it's now possible to set a price by location, but doing that removes the online discount so my customers shopping online don't realise that the product has actually been reduced.

 

I would say that this is probably my biggest issue with SquareUp - alongside the inability to individually discount items on the app in £

Looks like we missed your post - I apologise for the delay.

 

It sounds like you're adding a Sale Price directly from your Online Items. Sale prices only apply to your Square Online site and do not sync to other Square platforms.

 

We've made it easier for sellers to manage both online and in-person items from the Dashboard Item Library. If you need to create a discount that applies to your items both on your website and your POS, you can now use the Automatic Discount feature.

 

To get started, head to your Dashboard

  1. Visit Items > Discounts

  2. Click Create a Discount.

  3. Enter the discount details – including the discount name, amount (either percentage or pound amount) and applicable locations

  4. Under Automatic Discount, toggle on Discount Rules

You don't need to do anything else on your end. The discount will automatically apply when you select the item on your POS, or when a customer add the item to his cart on your website.

This is not what I want at all. What I requested was what my original title said before it got changed.

 

When I add 'Online Sale Price' to my products, I want that price to also display on my POS in my bricks & mortar shop rather than having to manually reduce that item at checkout.

The sale prices you set on items in Square Online don't sync across your POS for the moment. I haven't heard anything about the feature you're requesting, but I'll let you know if it ends up being released.

 

In the meantime, I suggest creating Automatic Discounts as they sync across both your website and the POS.  You won't have to manually add the discount at checkout if you use this feature, the price will be automatically reduced when placing the item in the cart.

I do appreciate the suggestion but this is just making more working for us users.

 

It would be so much simpler if there was a way to sync discounts across the board.

Your suggestion about using automatic discount options is not practical for websites as discounted price is not displayed until checkout ! Whereas sale prices are shown on product and category pages to temp buyers. 

I agree with the original poster here.

 

Having recently ran some discounts that applied online and in-store, doing as you've suggested would not actually show the item is on sale.

 

The work around you suggested would just create unnecessary extra work when all we really need is a field, or an option, to add a sale price. That will enable us, and all customers online to see the original price and the new reduced price.
