Online Sync

I have added all my items. They are setup correctly-the location, the visibility, the links, the stock…everything and for some unknown reason it went from showing all my items (that I can see from the dashboard) that I can only see 6 items when it’s published on the online store. Can someone please tell me what am I doing wrong or what can be done (that I have not already done) to get my items to show up?

@JRichBoilers nothing like a vanishing act from your own inventory. You’ve checked the usual suspects but heres what I got you can check:

🛠️ 1. Check “Site Visibility” vs. “Item Visibility”
They’re sneaky separate settings—double-check each item isn’t set to “Unavailable” or “Hidden” on the site level.

 

🌍 2. Make sure the items are assigned to the right category
If an item isn’t linked to a category that’s visible on your site’s navigation or homepage, it might not appear—even if it’s technically “live.”  (Categories can be toggled on or off on your site under the categories.)

 

🧩 3. Try triggering a manual sync
Go to Online > Site Items, then toggle something small (like turning an item off and back on), then republish your site. Sometimes that little kick resets Square’s mood.

 

💻 4. Preview using a private/incognito window
Sometimes your admin view is showing more than a customer sees—preview like an outsider to be sure.

 

🪄 5. Try creating a new test item
Just to rule out whether it’s a universal issue or something quirky with a specific batch.

 

Worst-case scenario, you can contact square support using the help icon in the top right on your web dashboard (not that square is worst, I am just saying last)  

And hey—if your missing items start reappearing, don’t be alarmed. They weren’t deleted... they were just pining for the fjords. 🦜

    1. Items Library →
      Bulk Editor →
      Check:
      - Online visibility enabled
      - Location availability
      - Channel settings
  2. Online Store Settings
    1. Square Online →
      Items →
      Verify:
      - Items per page settings
      - Category display settings
      - Sort order configuration
Troubleshooting Steps
  1. Verify Item Status

    • Confirm items are active
    • Check "In Stock" status
    • Verify price is set
    • Confirm images uploaded
  2. Check Categories

    • Review category assignments
    • Verify category visibility
    • Check homepage settings
  3. Site Cache

    • Clear browser cache
    • Try incognito mode
    • Force site refresh
    • Wait 15-30 minutes after changes
Questions to Help Troubleshoot 
  1. Are all items in the same category?
  2. Can you see all items in test mode?
  3. When did this issue start?
  4. Have you recently made any site changes?

Hello @JRichBoilers !

 

To tag off what @Donnie-M said, I have learned that if you're doing a bunch of item work on your website it can take a few minutes for everything to sync up. I'd be curious to know if you're still seeing the issues today. If so, definitely look at all the suggestions here.

what ended up doing was deleting each item and adding back on. They are now showing on my online site.
