List modifiers not showing up online
Two questions here:
1.How can I get my list modifiers to show up online?
2. Is it possible to input my own colors for the options text and color option? I would need to be able to put photos and not just the hex code for colors.

Hi @NikkiDMN. Re: question 1, can you please post your website URL? List modifiers automatically show up online — and everywhere — by default. That being said, there are ways to individually hide modifiers from the online store — which is used for situations where you might offer something in-store, only. But it would be odd if you had managed to do that for every modifier. Besides your URL, could you please post a screen shot of any modifier set (edit it in dashboard and take the screen shot there) for me to look at?

@NikkiDMN Re: question #2, I don’t know. I’m going to take some retail sellers I know to see if they know about this.

Haven’t ever played with online since Square TOS limits me to face to face sales. On a positive note the tag list works

This is the list modifier that I created but it only shows up in the square app and not on the website. This is the item it is attached to https://www.nikkidoesmynails.com/product/velvet-vision-trio/47?cp=true&sa=false&sbp=false&q=false&ca...

Hi Nikki, FYI everyone tagged - looking at previous posts Nikki’s website www.nikkidoesmynails.com
and you know how to use online!
I’m a little lost about the question?
Should that be “list of modifiers” or is “list modifiers” a USA term?
Are you hoping for clients to book a certain colour nail - cos that’s a huge ask - What I would suggest is to upload a very good Photo of all the nail colours PDF - remember that the image/colour online will not look anything like real life - number each nail colour or the brand might have this for you to download with names or numbers - If you offer loads of colours split the pages in to “reds” “blues” naturals” etc and have the image opposite and then as you have done on your site have a modifier that says Colour as you have done with “additional notes”
and do you mean that you wish to offer clients the option to have the item in a HEX, CMYK, RGB etc colour for an unique colour option? Like a drop down list of the colour in the options ?
- Nail polish is a subtractive color system:Unlike digital displays (which use RGB), nail polish relies on pigments that absorb certain colors and reflect others.
- Pigment mixing:Nail polish formulas are created by carefully mixing different pigments (dyes and/or colorants) to achieve the desired color.
- Color swatches:Nail polish manufacturers often use color swatches or charts to represent their color palettes, allowing customers to visually compare and choose colors.
- Hex codes and RGB are for digital displays:These color models are designed for screens, not for physical pigments like those used in nail polish.
- CMYK is used for printing:CMYK is a subtractive color model used in printing, but it's not directly applicable to nail polish color matching.
- Nail polish color matching apps:Some apps use algorithms to match colors, but they still rely on visual comparisons and might not be perfectly accurate.
My motto with all online sites now is KEEP IT SIMPLE!
What are you hoping to achieve? End result with the HEX codes/ photos ? This sounds like it might be a lot of work!

@Twiggy I can answer one of your questions. There are two types of modifier sets — list modifiers (the standard ones we are all used to) and the newer text-box modifiers that are basically free-format boxes customers can enter information into. I assumed from @NikkiDMN‘s question that they meant the standard list modifiers.

Modifiers and options confuse the hell out of me since they amalgamated. It’s a food thing crossed with non food thing.

Sorry to talk about Nikki third person - I think the request is” I want to have a drop down list of colours using a photograph “using modifiers of an item at the same “PRICE’ and use hex colours instead of the generic “yellow” green” blue “button
Lets see where this goes

Who would be the best person for me to talk to personally without going through customer service about selling online services. I have taken on a new adventure from my comfort zone of retail furniture store and decor. But as far as decor went it was rugs, lamps and pictures and other decor items not for sale but just for adding a homey free and the store looked warm and inviting. We had been overwhelmed with customers asking about regular decor items for sale and a gift shop either in side of our business now or 3 businesses down our same guy we lease from has one available and I put down a hold on it. We are already behind in our move in date with me having to go to Tennessee for 10 days and then came back and I haven’t had 1 day off since! We have picked up business I believe the last I looked 55% versus previous year and each month every metric is at least doubled. I hired 2 more people and offered 2 more to move to a different job that was needing help bad. 4 offered and I let all 4 get a break and just a change. The 2 new ones will fill their spot. I sat down with Steve (who I lease with) and I have around 12k square footage of furniture store space. Roughly 5k of work space and about the same for stock and supplies. He said it is a waste of money and going between buildings because he knows I will open up the workspace for your decor, handmade goods, a traditional gift shop. I have never done an online store, and a ton of questions like how do you control both online custom made goods and in store shopping at the same time? With the weather in February and with me having a loading dock all the vendors have their stuff here and I am the only one who is all set up at the other location. This week was set up and open for the weekend. Has anyone done both in physical downtown storefront yet? Can I sell online and make sure that it is available and didn’t sell to anybody in the store? Does everyone offer shipping? I know you see a lot of people who are in every industry and thought maybe someone would come to mine. Thank you!

Hey @Twiggy thanks for your response! I’m looking to add my current color options to the site, but after reading your response it does seem like a heavy lift! I had a few people mention that it was hard to see the names of the colors I offer so I figured making a dropdown list would make it easier for them. I wanted to get better photos of the colors I offer and upload them to a list drop down but in square I only see the hex code option and not a photo upload there, but I may not go that route anyways.
