Items available after Pre-Order Date

Items available after Pre-Order Date

Hi,

I am in the process of setting a store and plan to utilise the the Square Online system. I upgraded my plan as I require the use of plugins.

Currently, you can set a singular date that Pre-Orders will be available, or a date range and then also a pre-order cutoff window. However, systems I have used previously and what works for my need base is that you set a date the item is available from, and then once that date comes around the item stays available for general sale.

As an example, I sell trading card game products and most of my games have new releases every 3 months. We setup a pre-order so people can guarantee the stock ahead of time, but then once the release date comes around it is still for sale, it doesn't just cease to exist.

I understand I can go in and remove the pre-order status on the release date but that is adding what I feel is an unnecessary step.

Hopefully this makes sense and can be implemented easily.

Thanks,

Ben

Hi Ben 👋

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. This is a great call out. We'll share it with the Square Online team.

If there are any updates, we'll let you know here.

@NortonTCG

I’d also like this option please.

We do preorders for some baby carriers from abroad to make sure we get the correct patterns people want, but then the additional stock remains available for  others to buy and it’s an extra step to remember to go in and turn the product back on.

Being able to set a time gap between the pre order date and the available to all date would also be helpful for us to account for shipping time after the order has gone in.

Just wanted to follow up on this one and see if there has been any progress?

When I first switched to this system the speed of feedback and updates (where possible) seemed to be very quick. As of late it feels like nothing is going

Just going to bump this one again.

I feel like it's such an easy win and would save me many headaches and lost sales 🙂
