"Phone number is not valid" error at checkout
Has anyone else experienced this issue recently?
For over a month now square support has been unable to resolve this issue that my customers are reporting on the checkout page.
Customers fill out their personal info, go to hit place order, and are bumped back to the top of the form with red error text under the phone number field saying "Phone number is not valid". No amount of reentering, or changing the number allows them to complete their transaction.
This does not seem to affect every single customer but does seem to affect the majority of people because I've had frequent messages from customers, a significant drop in new orders, and an uptick in abandoned carts.
So far all square support has been able to offer has been suggestions for "workarounds" which haven't proven effective. So far we have tried clearing browser cache, changing browsers, using different devices, and even a specific process suggested by support of selecting square pay and then checkout as guest before filling out the form. None of these steps have allowed for completed transactions.
Looking through older posts on this forum I can find reports and comments about this issue from different users over the last three years. How is it possible that an issue like this has been allowed to persist in the square platform for this long without resolution? At this point, after a month of back and forth with square support and no fix in sight I feel like I have no option other than migrating to a different platform...

This is an ongoing issue that has not been addressed. When will it be addressed? I'm sure that atleast one of the Square Staff here has brought this up to the Devs but we have no word from them.
