Can I create a "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" voucher code for Square Online?

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Buy 2 Get 1 free but needs to be code activated.

I want to set up a buy two items and get the third free. Is there a way to activate it with a coupon code so only selected people can use? I have tried to do this under "Discounts" however this gives everyone this offer and I don't want that.  I am wanting to send this promotional code to an organisation so that they can send it on to a select group.  I just want to be able to give them a coupon/promotional code.  Hoping someone can help - I'm not very tech savvy.  Thanks in advance.

Currently, "Buy One Get One Free" discounts can be automatically applied to Square Online orders, but they can’t be restricted to specific customer groups, or activated with a coupon code.

I recommend checking out our Ideate Board to explore existing Feature Requests. If you find requests that align with what you're looking for, comment your support and share your thoughts on how this change would positively impact your business. If you don't see requests that match your needs, feel free to create your own.

In the meantime, you may want to consider using Square Marketing to create a voucher instead. Although Square Marketing does not currently support "Buy One Get One Free" vouchers, you can create a similar offer by following these steps:

1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and go to Marketing & Loyalty > Marketing.
2. Click Create Voucher.
3. Enter a Voucher Name.
4. For Voucher Type, select Free.
5. Under Applies to, choose Category and select the relevant category.
6. For Conditions, select Limit to sales over a certain amount and enter the minimum amount equivalent to the cost of two items.
   
   

This approach would allow you to create a voucher that offers a free item from a specific category, activated only when a minimum spend is met, and a voucher code is entered at the online checkout. While this workaround has its limitations, it might help you achieve your goal.
