New Square Loan in 2024

I’m at a bit of a loss for what else I need to do to be offered a new Square Loan at this point. I’ve been with Square for over 10 years, had 7 loans now that I’ve have paid back early every single time. Metrics are all in green, record sales year. In 2023, record numbers across the board, no refunds, no complaints or issues of any kind in our entire history. Current loan is 80% paid off, but no new offer in site. This is the kind of stuff that causes businesses to find someone else to process through! Please help! I’m sure I’ll get the same old excuses that you guys send to everyone about looking at every aspect of the business. But there isn’t a single aspect that isn’t way up. I’m not sure if there is a new process they are using now, or if there is some kind of issue with my banking or something else I’m not thinking about or aware of. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, because I could really use some new capital to start the year off with and reinvest into my business!

Unfortunately, the offers right now are kinda bouncing for some around 70-80% my last one 81/84% paid off really busy 3 days and late Saturday night came in accepting it and funded Monday. My previous loan was 91% paid off. I have seen the percentage paid back is higher for most (not all) one just posted paid off since December and just got his offer 4/11/24. Keep plugging away and hopefully it will come in sooner than later! Good luck!

Congrats on your offer. I have had 3 busy days in a row. My loan is currently paid up to 96%. I still have no loan offer. I process a lot through square and the only reason I stay with the square processor is because of the loans. I have recieved a lot of them within the 2 years…However, the vague answers that square gives us for eligibility on loans is very disappointing… Everything can be green all down the board. No change sales get higher every month and they STILL will not tell you why you aren’t eligible for a loan.

If you jump on any of the POS sites like this no they aren't happy either! I read 3/4 on Sunday and it's lenders in general that are holding back. The market is all over the place and they are waiting to see when it settles down. Just keep plugging away and hopefully soon things will settle down and back to normal! Good luck!

I do as well when I'm getting close to an offer. I believe that is what kicked in my last offer. I had a 3 day sale going on and it was extremely busy and then boom late Saturday night my offer came in. Slightly higher than the previous offer but like other poster stated above. Mine should have roughly been around 10k not 2k increase. I took it and was funded on Monday. Good luck to you!

I’m 78 percent paid off on my second loan with a substantial increase in sales since the last one it’s only taken me six months I do multiple transactions in a day with new business almost daily and I’ve yet to get an offer... last offer made at 75%... I’ve reached out and I get the generic response I’m frustrated I have an incredible opportunity need the funding and if I have to do it with someone else I don’t feel like I’m a Right fit to continue giving square my business.... I’m not saying I deserve special treatment but when I’m hitting the numbers I am and doing all of the things it says I need to be doing to be reconsidered and I’m not receiving an offer How else am I supposed to feel.

In general, it appears that most Square Loans are not starting to be be offered until the loan is 80-90% paid back if not fully.  This is just observed from posts of people getting offers and loans, not an official stance.  So you are getting closer to maybe getting an offer.  Getting it early is almost like a penalty because you are paying back your loan with part of the new loan.  There isn't anyone that can tell you any different than what others have said as that is how the loans work there isn't a button that someone can push that will turn your offer on as much as we may want that.

The good news is they have never loaned as much money as there are right now.  in the last 90 days 129,000 people got loans totaling 1.32 billion dollars.  That is 1 loan a minute, just wild numbers.

Keep selling is the best you can do for your business to keep growing and maybe there will be a better opportunity down the road.   I know I was upset before about missing out on a purchase and was happily surprised when something better came along. I ended up buying an entire business, property and all, at a bankruptcy auction.  Had I bought the property 2 months earlier I wouldn't have been able to buy the business.

I know and understand unfortunately, I have been watching the trend with the majority now it's a higher percentage paid off or some completely paid off. There is no guarantee and how the algorithm works but I do know people are still getting loans daily. Hopefully, it will kick in for you. I just watch the majority and the range their getting it at. Good luck to you and I hope it comes quicker!

I am not sure how many will agree or disagree with me on this one... I came here to read all of the comments to see if there was any change in the lending environment with square. We are on our 2nd loan and 90% paid off. I am torn if I am thankful that I have not gotten another offer or wishing I had another one. I am in a spot not wonder that if I didnt take the loan, would I need a loan offer to help out again. Vs just having the 20% they take in savings for a inventory stock up when needed. I wish everyone the best and agree with all the statments that square is still making offers. They are a massive company and have to evaluate risks at a massive level of risk. If you dont have a new offer by the time you pay off, try setting up auto savings on your account for the amount that you have been paying back as a % and then maybe we might not be as fast to need the loans. If I dont get an offer before this one is paid off, I dont think I will accept one or need one. 20+% doesnt seem like that much until your paying it back on a daily basis. Then its alot and keeps you hoping to get another one in my opinion.  AND trust me, we could use some capital to buy new equipment to fulfill orders that we are taking on to help us expand. Just not sure that its the right move for us anymore to go this route.

Solid input @Burnt1 .  Perfect solution to take that 15-20% and put it in savings, and see what you have after a month. or a few months.

💯 agree! I take offers when I need them and I don't accept every loan.  Especially during our busy time in the summer that adds up fast! I only put 10% away and that adds up fast! The end of the month I go get what supplies I need and still have 10% extra going into the bank. I wish everyone great luck who is waiting for an offer!

I think many are starting to weigh this 🤔 right now. I get it I really do. We all have a choice and we should think about it.

First one I've seen that low in long time! It's moving and people are posting offers are rolling out last week and this weekend a lot. All high % 1 paid off completely. Myself personally,  I prefer if I take the offer I want all my offer or at least 95% paid off type thing. I don't want 25-40% going to an old loan. Unfortunately, everyone or their situations might be different! If I didn't have my line of credit I would be lost or in a few tight spots. Hot water heater went out and 2 days later the furnace! SMH. But, I have a great relationship with my Credit Union and 8.75% I won't complain but dang a double wamma! This was a few years ago!

Yes, I've seen about 7 now this week! Yours the lowest % in a long time! I'm sorry you missed out if you needed it. I'm not sure what the real time it stays up as it seems to be different for people. I had one but it was a late night Friday and stayed till Monday night and then gone. I didn't want it or needed it then. I've also received them late Saturday night and accept it and Monday before deposit. So I'm guessing weekends compared to week days move different. I know once it's gone back to the algorithm you go! I've seen many call on the offer disappeared before they could hit it and wanted it and no luck. One nice thing when it comes back and you will have a lot more paid off!

So... curious if anyone has had better loan offers by actually linking their bank accounts? I had an offer a few weeks ago at 96% for 30K which was higher than my last, which was WAY lower than previous. I didnt take it right away because I had just paid off the one and was debating if I REALLY needed to take the offer right now or not. But then a week later it dropped 5k and went to an offer of 25k! Then another week passed and I hadn't accepted and it dropped to 22.5K! Now mind you I have a shop that does DAILY credit card sales. My sales for April and May were basically the same...and June is off to an even better start. So I'm just so confused as to why my offer dropped like that and I'm also worried that if I don't take it, it will go down again? But I know soon I will definitely need it...I was just trying to wait a little while and see ALL of my money go into my accounts for a change lol...and think on it a bit.

As to your first point, there is only anecdotal evidence that says yes from others saying it, but that is not an official yes.

And I 100% stand behind your last comment, wait and let you start keeping all that money to pay your other bills until it is impossible without a loan.  That makes a huge difference "keeping" all your daily sales vs 80%.
