Hi,
I’ve successfully embedded the Square Appointments widget on my local website. However, I’ve noticed that whenever a specific service is selected, it opens in a new tab rather than staying within the same page.
This behavior disrupts the user experience and detracts from the seamless integration I was aiming for.
Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue? I’d like the booking process to remain contained within the embedded widget on my website without triggering a new tab.
Thank you in advance for your assistance. I look forward to your guidance on this matter.
Best regards,
I've integrated the Square Appointments widget into my website, but I've encountered an issue where selecting a service causes links to open in a new tab (target="_blank"). This disrupts the seamless booking experience I’m aiming for, as I’d prefer the links to open within the same tab.
I attempted to modify this using Developer Tools by changing the target="_blank" attribute to target="_self" on the affected links, but this change is temporary and reverts when the page is refreshed.
Could you please advise on how to make this adjustment permanent or if there’s an alternative solution?
Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your response.
I remember something like this few days back and this was the recommendation I got, not sure if this will help but it might be a setting on your website and code
Try thisTo make a Square Appointments widget open in a new tab when clicked on your website, you need to add a simple "target='_blank'" attribute to the HTML code that embeds the booking widget on your site; essentially, when a user clicks the widget, it will open in a new browser tab.
Hi @Kim17,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community for advice on this. It's great to see you've already had some help from another Seller. Thanks @mitin!
If you'd like to share a link to your site, I'd be happy to reach out to our Appointments team to see if they can add any further insights.
Also, just so you know, I've gone ahead and merged your additional post on the same topic to this thread to keep all the responses together.
Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same issue.
