How to archive services in Appointments?

Hi everyone! Iโ€™m looking for some guidance on managing services in Square Appointments. I recently updated my service menu and pricing by adding new options, and Iโ€™ve already toggled the older services so theyโ€™re no longer bookable online. Clients now only see the new services, which is exactly what I wanted.

However, on the backend, the older services are still showing up in my view, and itโ€™s becoming a bit cluttered and harder to navigate. Iโ€™d really like to archive or hide these older services to streamline my workflow, but I donโ€™t want to delete them because I still need to retain all their data for reporting, historical tracking, and reference purposes.

Does anyone know if thereโ€™s a way to achieve this? Maybe an option to archive or hide inactive services specifically in the back office? Any tips or advice on how to keep my backend view organized while maintaining access to the data would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance!

Hi there!

Great question! Unfortunately, Square Appointments doesnโ€™t currently offer an option to archive or hide inactive services specifically on the backend while retaining their data for reporting and reference. However, here are a few tips to help you keep your workflow more organized:

  1. Rename Inactive Services: You can rename the older services by adding a prefix like "Inactive" or "Archived." This will group them together alphabetically and make it easier to distinguish from your active services.

  2. Use Categories Strategically: If you have service categories, consider creating one specifically for inactive services. This way, theyโ€™re grouped in one place and donโ€™t clutter your active service categories.

  3. Filter in Reports: Even if the older services appear in the backend list, you can filter them out in reports or searches to focus only on the new services when you need to analyze data.

  4. Submit Feedback: If archiving or hiding services is an important feature for you, I recommend submitting feedback directly to Square. Theyโ€™re always looking to improve, and customer input plays a big role in updates and new features.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions or need further clarification. ๐Ÿ˜Š
