No Third Decimal Point

I'm a frustrated wine retailer disappointed that I'm stuck with Square.

If you have an item not divisible evenly your PO's will be off.

If a bottle of wine that comes in a 12 pack case costs $14.2433337 Square will input that as $14.25. Nightmare trying to balance your PO's and QuickBooks.

It's a known problem for 5 years and nothing done about it. The only fix I could come up with is to create an item called "Square Can't Do Math" and put that on every PO at the cost of a penny and the quantity that you're off by.

Seriously... an abacus can do multiple decimal points but not a cloud-based software?

Isn’t there a setting in QuickBooks that you can set it to round up? Can’t remember exactly where it is since it’s been 10 years since I set it up but it did solve that issue for me

I don't know. I haven't synced with QuickBooks yet cuz I really don't want to deal with having to go into every invoice and adjust them. I don't know how rounding up will work when Square already does that and makes the PO sometimes several dollars higher than it is depending on how many items you have that aren't an even number.

I feel bad for fabric stores when they sell 1 1/2 or 1 1/4 yards of fabric.

I just started using Square 2 months ago and I have over 115 units of "Square Can't Do Math"

I don’t sync my inventory into QuickBooks. The sync just brings in your invoices as sales, breaks out the square fees, and sales tax. Then QuickBooks is set to sync to my bank account to bring in deposits and expenses. Since QuickBooks doesn’t even look at the items or PO’s it really hasn’t been an issue at all

I pay my vendors through QuickBooks so having the PO's / Invoices going in at the correct amount is important. I shouldn't have to balance them out with an added ghost item.

I wish that the sales tax would also go out 3 decimal points as well. I set prices so when I add sales tax the total will be $x.oo (for instance an item that's priced $9.30 will be $10.00 w/ tax) ... as multiple items are added there are times the total will be off a penny or two. It really only affects cash customers and I just round up or down but it would be nice if sales tax went out 3 decimal places as well.
