Hi there, @members
we sell homemade dog treats and cakes. I have customers out of our town but still within the state. I was previously sending people their terraria through regular mail. But like everything else, those rates have almost doubled. When I send treats I don’t think they are even 2 pounds, 3 pounds max. I always have used the blue bubble wrap mailer for them to stay away from boxes for a lower cost. My question is this, we finally started to use square website and I would like to take advantage of the UPS. I won’t need boxes really and I was thinking about just sending them in the mailer bags. Will UPS recognize this as a flat rate? How exactly does this work? I would like to other peoples personal experiences
thanks Debbie

I’m in the same boat Debbie. I don’t do cakes, but I do homemade dog treats, antler chews, and rope toys. I have customers within the state that I ship treats to, as well as customers across the country that I ship antlers and toys too. I currently use USPS but purchase my postage thru Pirate Ship. It gives a good discount, but with rising rates it’s still not cheap. I’m interested to see other peoples responses here. I’ve also been thinking about coming up with a cost effective way to offer free shipping.
