Are you guys hosting your website with Square or using only their POS?
Hey @mickPOWR. I’m not a retail store, but I do have an online store for my ice cream shop. I used to use Weebly (before it was acquired by Square). But I moved it to Square Online’s builder and hosting services. Mostly I did this just to consolidate the number of vendors I was using for everything, as I’ve done with other Square services over time — like Payroll, team management, marketing, etc. For me, it’s about convenience and simplification.
I use SquareSpace for the majority of our site and Square Online for the order page.
I tried using just SquareSpace wholly, and then just Square wholly, but I wasn't satisfied either way.
I've never used MailChimp, but I've used Ohwo. I really liked it, but switched to Square marketing purely for the convenience of having everything built-in one place.
We use WIX as our ecommerce front. The current web design in square just isn't there. I really want to move everything to Square - and and once it integrates better, we will. I have a year and a half on my WIX hosting, so hopefully by that time everything can can be in one spot. It will certainly make managing inventory better!
Have you looked at SquareSpace?
I have used Big Commerce for about the last 10 years or so. The program is much more robust than any of the other programs that I have looked at. I carry over 300 products and felt limited with Square. When I switched from QB POS to Square POS I did try to set up my store on the Square site but very limiting. Tech support is responsive either by email, phone or chat. Like Square there are super users that are always available as well.
Hello Slyvia! I have been using Square as my POS, and WIX as my eCommerce site. I am not really happy with WIX, and am looking to move. i have been a WIX customer for about nine years. Since I was an early user, my SEO does not speak well with search engines (my template is old and there is language that I can only get to at the server level - which I can't). If I want to switch templates, I have to pay more money for a new template, even though I can create 'sample' sites using the new templates. So - looking for a new provider.
How is the SEO for Big Commerce?
Sorry to hear that you've felt limited by Square. Be sure and post your specific issues that need to be passed on to the team so they can be aware of them. If we don't tell the team at Square what is needed, they can't know what is lacking. They're always working on new features and making improvements too!
Square Online 💯
I use SQUARE. I use them because they have everything I need. At my age (70+), my ability to understand other platforms is daunting. Being my site (757printerinks.com) is all built by me, SQUARE was easy.
I'm so glad to hear that!!!
Square Online all the way! It has pretty much all you need to build a great website for a business. Where it does lack, generally there is a work around. The Square development team are working hard to fill the gaps and have a pipeline of new features on the way!
SquareSpace. My site originally was hosted by Google Domains, but then SquareSpace took over.
My domain redirects to my e-commerce shop using the BigCartel platform.
I have a main website that is hosted with Network Solutions. My online menu for The Bus Bar and Grill is directly with Square. I have not had any problems with either one.
I am heavily invested in Square infastructure for my businesss for payments, CRM, invoices, website, its all Square
It's square all the way. Can't beat the convenience of doing all in one place. And having reliable customer service and a responsive development team that takes suggestions serious.
@GreatVibes That was my feeling a number of years ago. Of course, all eggs in one basket comes with risks, too. But overall my experience is that Square Is up to the task. After 10+ years with them, so far I’m not regretting that decision. Especially lately as they reveal their product roadmap. I’m stoked about what is coming.
(oh, and some of us have our eyes on you, now. lol. Feel free to tell us more.)
We use Square for QR code ordering, rostering, and POS, all of which work well for us. I use Squarespace for a website. As the Square website improves, I might switch the website to Square if I have the time.
