It would be nice if the Service Charge would automatically calculate when a CC is utilized, and not have to have the cashier push an additional button to add the fee. In addition, it would be nice if we could write the rule for the amount at "2.6 percent + 10 cents." I know it can be rounded up, say use 2.8 percent, but it would be nice if it was exact. Most of our purchases are under $50.
I dont add serivce fees to my clients charges. also I am questioning every company that is doing it to me.
first: that fee is a cost of doing business and is tax deductible.
second" that fee you want to charge now has to be reported as income.
third: I have stopped doing buisness with those who charge it..........
how dumb is we'd rather have you wait 30 to mail a check, and give you a 10% discount for doing so.....someone needs to think about this action.
We are a nonprofit and paid over $13,000 in fees to Square in 2021.
I also consider the fees to accept credit cards a cost of doing business. Calculated the cost verse the amount you would receive if you did not have the option to process credit cards. 0ver half my business is based on the ability to accept credit cards. The sales/ profit gained far out shines the cost incurred.
Best Wishes to you!!
We are a nonprofit and paid over $13,000 in fees to Square last year. We can't write off the expense.
I do not understand why you would not be able to write off the credit card fees as it is an expense the organization pays for the ability to process credit cards. Even if you are classified as a 501(c)3, you should be able to write off the expense to process credit cards.
Yet, would you have collected near the amount you did without the ability to collect credit cards? Only you would be able to determine that cost.
Wish you the best!! Fantastic opportunity you are doing/ offering to help others. ♥
