Spending hours to try and find the problems between Square reports to Quickbooks reports has been a nightmare. I had to spend time doing a zoom call with Quickbooks techs to try and get the sync to Square fixed. Yay now that its fixed, none of the reports are matching between the programs. One of the examples is square savings won't report over correctly to Quickbooks, along with all my square fees reporting incorrectly. At this point, Do I ditch quickbooks? or do I have to try and find another app like Square that i'd have to painstakingly manually enter all my client info and formulas into? I just want the numbers to match this year so I don't have a huge bill unexpectedly because nothings communicating correctly. Help! i'm so sick of trying to figure this out without having to learn programing on the side just to make things work!!!
Hi there, @Bahbahwho,
I’m really sorry you’ve been dealing with all of this, I completely understand how frustrating it is to spend hours troubleshooting and still have reports that don’t match. You shouldn’t have to learn programming just to feel confident your numbers are correct. Issues like Square Savings and processing fees not syncing properly are unfortunately common and usually come down to how transactions are mapped between Square and QuickBooks, not something you’ve done wrong. Before you make a big switch, I’d be happy to help review a few specific examples with you so we can get things aligned and make sure your numbers are accurate for this year without any unexpected surprises.
Hey @Ellie_
I'm not exactly sure what keeps happening. I've went through all my square categories and how things are labeled in both Quickbooks and Square, everything is the same and in same categories. Once the Quickbook techs got the Square Connector app to work and get my transactions to sync I thought it would be back to working how it had. The other day I checked reports in both apps and now Square created a new category that's putting my services in as "channel sales -square sales" which now isn't separating the product sales vs services. I have no idea how my square savings is reporting anymore since last year at one point it was showing it separate until one point it just sent it into "square fees" and no clue how to fix that in any settings I've looked at. The Square connector on quickbooks has some settings but nothing I have found to help get things corrected. I'm at a loss at what to do and who to contact for help on this. I just want the sync to work and match all the same categories it once had. I'd like to have some way to fix this before the next round of estimated taxes are due, since last years were so incorrect it caused all the estimated payments to be far too low. It's been so much work for my book keeper and for my CPA to try and figure out whats correct. Thank you for reaching out.
Ps. It would be handy if on the report summary in Square that it included "Square Savings" so its all on one report vs going into banking. Maybe that could help how things are mapped out when sent to Quickbooks..
