How can I set up an event with Square?
Good Afternoon
We are a community house that runs courses and I want to create a link for online payments to the courses.
I've tried several ways but I need set it up in such a way that when that when a customer pays online, I am able to
1: have the event showing a full and concession fee
2: then be able to set the event to limit numbers
So if I set the limit to 10 and the customer chooses Full fee - I need that ticket deduction to reflect across both the Full and the concession variation that I have set up?
I hope this makes sense 🙃

Hi @Donnabee3056,
Right now, you wouldn't be able to sell two different types of tickets while pooling from the same amount of total available tickets. You can create a variation for both the full-price and concession tickets for your event, you'd have to specify how many of each are available, e.g 5 full price, and 5 concession tickets and so on. I understand the need to be able to limit the total event tickets while also allowing your customers to choose the ticket types that applies to them. However, this would be considered a feature request at the moment, which you can submit here. More on how you can set up event tickets via Square Online here.
PS. I noticed it's your first post, welcome to our community 👋 🙂

Hi Arie,
Thank you for your response and the warm welcome 🙂.
The other way I thought of was creating a " collect payment link" and have the customer enter their own value ( they would be able to see the two prices) and setting a limit in there? Is there a way of doing that - I cant see anything in the advanced options

We are holding and event at our property and would like to sell tickets online with a link from our web site.
1: One item would be for entry tickets with variations of 1 for adult entry and one for car entry priced accordingly.
2: The other item would be for options with variations of 3 different food options.
I have not been able to find any videos on this subject
I seem to have been able to get a QR code for selling the items but can only pay via entering credit card details not with ApplePay or GPay.. any help would be appreciated.
regards
Ynot

Hi there @Ynot
Thanks for reaching out with your question and apologies for the delay in getting back to you here!
I've included the steps to create an event item for your Square Online site here. When creating your event, you can add multiple Variations (E.g. ticket type) and Options (E.g. meals) for a single event, rather than setting up two separate items. This is covered in the steps I've linked, but if you do run into any difficulties setting this up, please reach out to us here and we'll be glad to assist you.
You also have the option of selling these tickets in person. Just ensure you have made the event available at the same location you are logging into via the app (should you have multiple locations).
Let us know how you go with this on your side!

I'm just stepping in while Laurie is out, @Ynot 👋
Can you share what the confirmation emails you receive look like?

You can convert files to .jpg on a Mac via these steps or these steps if you're on a device running Microsoft @Ynot.

Hey there, @HARTSRANGE, thanks for jumping in with your question! 👋
@Ynot I'm going to tag you here in my reply as I believe I'll be able to address your above concerns as well.
At this time, it's not possible to automatically generate a QR code, digital or paper ticket for an event created through Square Online. Currently, customers who have purchased tickets to your event will receive the default 'Thank you for your order!' confirmation email which will include a summary of the event details. See the below screenshots for reference.
As per the text under the 'Event Information' section in the email, if a digital or physical ticket is required in addition to the confirmation email, this is something that will need to be created outside of Square Online.
If having the ability to scan a digital ticket upon entry to the event is required we can recommend checking out some of the partnerships via the Square App Marketplace, such as Simple Tix or Brushfire. It's worth noting that these are paid integrations so be sure to factor this into your decision-making and ticket prices.
Let me know if this helps to answer your questions about this feature and if you do have any additional questions, flick them through in your reply and I'll take a look!

Thanks for the explanation. Why would i use Square to sell and event if I had to integrate it with a third party to get tickets. I would just use the third party on its own and not have to pay fees twice. Sorry but i wont be using Square for our event.
regards

Hi There,
I too am running an event and have successfully set up the Online tickets to have on our website- however when I have 'tested' the system to see how the tickets appear to the purchaser, I find that the email comes through all ok but there is no barcode or something that we can use at the gate to 'verify' the ticket.
Is this a feature with SQUARE?
thanks

Good morning!
Is there a way to quickly check guests in?
I'm currently doing it one at a time but phone number and order search.
Thank you!
