Best way to add predefined notes in Square Restaurant?

We've recently switched to using KDS. Previously we would add small notes as symbols to handwritten food dockets, e.g. "GF" (whole order gluten free), "1xGF" (1 customer GF), "SH" (table sharing dishes).

Ideally we'd like a single button to add these notations to a ticket in Square Restaurant, rather than typing a note each time. Any suggestions as to the most efficient way to do this?

Hey @Smithward,

thanks for writing back in to the Seller Community!

Modifiers can help here. You can create modifiers for commonly requested options, e.g Gluten Free, and also add a price to a modifier if needed. Here's how to get started with modifiers:

  1. Visit Items in your online Square Dashboard, and click Modifiers > Create a Modifier Set.

  2. Enter the modifier information > click Save.

  3. Select Apply to Items to assign the modifier set to your desired items.

You'll also see a toggle for conversational modifiers, which is a Square for Restaurants feature allowing you to select pre-set conversational modifiers such as "Add" or "Extra".

Please let us know how you go adding modifiers 😊👍

Hey @Arie

I was wondering if there is a way to customize the conversational modifiers to match the established language used in our kitchen dockets?
