Happy Pride Month to everyone on behalf of Square! ๐
We're so grateful that you've chosen to be a part of our community. This year has definitely had it's ups and downs, and as we start to come back to place of relative normalcy, it's nice to take a deep breath and celebrate the vibrancy of our community and how far we've come!
How do y'all plan to celebrate Pride Month or do you have any great memories to share?
I remeber my first pride was 15 years ago in Kansas City, Missouri, when I was just coming out of the closet. It was also my first introduction to RuPaul, who happened to be the performer that year! I remember feeling such a profound sense of community and belonging that I had never felt before. Truly an amazing experience!
This is my first year being out as both Gay and Non-Binary! I came out November 2020, 3 months after starting AndrogynousArt on Etsy. So I knew I had to do something fun for my first Pride Out of the Closet. Which is why for the entire month of June, 50% of all proceeds made will be donated to the Prism Foundation, which helps AAIP and LGBTQ+ youth pursue higher education through scholarships. This foundation is something that helped me a lot to pursue University and I want to give back to the community that has made me feel so at home all those years in hiding.

I love this so much, @AndrogynousArt! ๐จ
Thank you for sharing with us, Preston ๐๐
Thanks so much for sharing! ๐ Love that you're giving back to the community! Sounds like the Prism Foundation is doing important and impactful work! I'm going to flag to our other leaders of our community at Square so maybe we can figure out a way to collaborate with them!
Congrats! I am gay and transgendered- FtM. I just signed up with TransFriendly and The Dresscode Project. Now I am out to everyone on my website (was not out for many years) and am finding the best new clients finally!
I remember about 8 years ago at pride-fest in Denver. It gave me courage! I love donating and helping. At this time i've only been donating my products, gifts and other things I have in my store. Because they are all natural and organic, they do not have a shelf life and i'm not simply going to throw it away. Plus all those smiles on the kids faces for easter made it all worth it.
I did some rainbow foils this week when I was doing an orange highlight retouch on one of my clients. Looks like I installed Pride Flags in their hair! ๐
Extra Love Love Rainbow stuff. I have a friend who has fantabulous rainbow sparkle for nails if you are interested hit me up.
I don't do nails but thanks!
Love it, @hgl_PLLC! True story, I haven't cut my hair since the pandemic started and it's the longest it's ever been (well, I've trimmed the sides but I can still pull it into a bun). This has me considering doing a fun color before going back to my "usual" look. ๐ณ๏ธโ๐
With Pride Month this year coming with the reopening of most places our non-profit has events at, we are ramping up with events. Starting Saturday, our square will begin being used heavily. We have an event Saturday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, and the following Saturday. I, as the Treasurer, will be running the square at all of the events to help raise money for HIV/AIDS Services in Northeast Georgia.
Thanks so much for sharing! Sounds like an awesome organization! Good luck with the upcoming events, and let us know if you have any questions about anything!
