Greetings, all!
Last week, as I do every week, I boosted a Facebook post about our upcoming weekend entertainment. Because it is Pride Month, I’ve been attaching very colorful images to these posts. Facebook alerted me to a comment from one of our locals who indicated that he WOULD NOT be joining us because of that “rainbow sign” that was on our post.
I wrestled with it for a while. My first thought was to throw caution to the wind and dive into the rabbit hole. My second thought was that I should just ignore this obviously enlightened person, leave his post there for the whole world to see and react to. In the end, I decided to ban him and move on with my day. In my personal life I usually take up the gauntlet in some way and fight the good fight.
This week, I used the same image as I did last week, and mentioned what had happened. Of course, he won’t be able to see it, and I don’t really care about that. I hope that I got the point across to the rest of our followers (and the people who saw our advertisement) that we won’t be intimidated by such nonsense AND that we won’t be drawn into needless confrontations, either.
Have you had such a thing happen on your social media? How did you handle it?
Happy End of Pride Month, all!
