I made a website using one of Weebly's older themes which is no longer available. A few days ago I opened that site, www.anitarosemusic.com to add another page. I went to Themes to try to add the piano theme from my original pages. When I tried to extend the old theme to this page, the loading circle spun endlessly so I quit Weebly and started it again. When I opened it, my old theme of a piano on a red background was changed to a group of hikers on a hill! I never selected this!
I wrote Weebly/Square several time to beg for help but not an answer in sight (site?)
I see that Google cached the old website with the correct theme. How can I revert back or borrow that original theme that worked so well?
HI, Square is the primary platform now. Square disabled many options and features previously on "Weebly". No themes are available. Since you attempted to change, the theme previously available is no longer. Square is requiring any websites needing to change or update to move to the Square platform.
Thank you for always jumping in to help @Gold. In this case, @Anteater52 is a Legacy Weebly user and is using our Legacy Website Editor developed by Weebly. This builder does offer the option to import themes.
@Anteater52 I have looked into this and was able to see what you are referring to. I have reached out to the team that handles these situations and will get back to you once I receive an answer.
P.S. Welcome to the Seller Community now home of the Weebly Community as well 🎉
Good news @Anteater52! Our team was able to restore your theme and it is now working as expected. However, one thing they made sure I let you know is that your theme is very old and not responsive or optimized for mobile viewing.
This means that Google is currently penalizing you for not being mobile-optimized. Our Advanced Support team recommended that you consider updating to a newer Responsive Theme so you can get better visibility on Google Search Results.
I hope this information is helpful!
