Hi,
Just testing payments on my new account with my own credit card, I put in the amount of a pound,I purposely entered a wrong post code to see what would happen and the payment was successful??.
My question is why did the payment go through? I do not want any payment going through on an incorrect postcode
Thanks
Hi @airmassmeters, thank you for flagging this!

Hi,
I did want to switch from my merchant account to square.
I have tried again with a different card of mine and the same problem has occurred, ie: wrong post code input by me but payment says successful?
If I can do this with my own card so could a customer, Is the postcode checked when using the virtual terminal on a desktop?
I tested the same cards of mine with the incorrect postcodes on my merchant account and tells me that the postcode is wrong (not matched)
I only want to send goods to customers where all of the their details match.
Did I miss something in set up?
Thanks
Hi @airmassmeters,
It doesn't sound as though you have set anything up incorrectly and you're right to query this.
When using the Virtual Terminal, you will need to enter a postcode when processing cards issued in the United States, Canada or United Kingdom
Postcodes are used as an additional form of security to verify the card is being used by the cardholder or authorised person.
It's definitely worth reaching out to our Customer Support Team in regards to the transactions you processed with an incorrect post code, they'll be happy to look into it.
