hello friends. i bought a brecknell scale off the square website. for some reason i cant get the scale to auto populate the weight to the register. im having to manually input the weight into the system at check out. 

is there a setting im missing?  this scale was almost $600 dollars! I was truly hoping my customers would be able to check themselves out a little more proficiently.

Hey @Angiearcher, thank you for reaching out. I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues with your Brecknell scale. I completely understand your frustration, especially after investing so much money. Let’s work together to ensure we’ve tried the following steps:

1) To confirm, the scale is connected in settings? 

2) Have you setup weights for your item? 

3) Try these troubleshooting steps: 

1. Confirm you are connecting your scale with the correct cable depending on your Square Stand model or Android device, Square Terminal or Square Register.
2. Update your Square POS app(s) software to the latest version.
3. Check that you have correctly set up items to sell by weight.
4. Check that you have a secure connection between your scale, cables, and any additional connected accessories.

I never bought a Scale from Square.  I tried making my own Barcodes as instructed and had the Item, Fudge created with the Price per lb.  Created a label and would not get the expected price.  I gave up trying to figure it out as my Fudge sales kept declining because people were becoming more health oriented.  I wish Square had a Video showing how the Scale and the different POS systems connected to it and how it works.  I thought the Scale was to print out a label with either the Price or the weight of the item, which then the POS could read to enter the Price for you.
